What's New (Archive 2003-2004)?

December 17, 2004
We now carry both EFI and carb 2000 and up stretch tanks. We received quite a few carb tanks a few weeks ago, and the EFI tanks just came in today. These were on backorder for 7 months.

December 1, 2004
Signature Sets Christmas Specials...receive $150 all sets listed! Sale until 12/20/04
Happy Holidays from Attitude Custom Painting.

November 23, 2004
We will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

November 16, 2004
One of our paint jobs made a 4 page spread in V-Twin Magazine. Congrats to Wil Roberston!!! He rides the heck out of his bike.
See the Roadstar here

November 10th, 2004
Really starting to pick up. Completion time right now is about 7 weeks. This will grow until abut Februarary...want us to paint your bike? Get it in quick as possible. Last year, the completion time grew to 10 weeks in February and March...although we do have more manpower this year :)

November 5, 2004
After 6 long months, we finally got the 'carb' 2000 and up stretch tanks. Very scarce and hard to get. EFI's to come soon. These are much better than a 'stock tank' stretch.
The US was completely out for 6 months+

October 15, 2004
Starting to pick up again. Interested in getting your set done by us, be sure and get them in early as possible.

September 5th
Survived yet another storm (Frances). Shops A-okay. Got 60-70 mph winds and a ton of rain. Looks like we have one more to contend with this weekend (Ivan). Maybe we'll get lucky once again, and it will change paths.
Tampa sure has been lucky so far.

August 17, 2004
Updated the testimonial page.
Added two more Signature Sets, sold one already, got two more in the works. Deuce and a 2004 Sportster set with a bobtail fender and kit

August 13, 2004
Looks like we might get spared of Hurricane Charley. It appears to be going to make landfall south of us...whew!

August 12, 2004
Due to Hurricane Charlie, we may be closed full or 1/2 day on Friday August 12
Updated...Nope...we will be closed tomorrow!

We just got back from the shop and spent that last 2 hours putting most sets inside the safest place I think which would be the spray booth. What a nice color collage we have going...over 25 jobs inside the spray booth floor
We have a 5000' square foot shop and I figured this would be a safer place than our offices which are made of drywall.
Hard to believe! I seen these storms, but you have to admit, it's not too good of a sign when the landfall pinpoint has stayed 'Pinellas' for the past day or so, but who knows...you can't be too sure about 'Mother Nature' No matter what, it would be hard to even think that we would even get anything under 60+ mph out of all this.

I believe Charley will even be a category 3 (100 mph+) once it gets back into the waters. The thing about the west coast of Florida (unlike the east coast) is you have to worry about 'storm surge' which is predicted at about 14'.
Pinellas county is also a 'peninsula' and the bridges are gridlock to get out. I live about 5 miles from the coast. One of my employee's mother has a business about 100 yards off St Pete Beach.

Not many storms I have paid attention to coordinates, but I definately am on this one!

.I also just bought a new home in a 'flood zone' (go figure...but we close next week...so technically, it's not ours yet). They also, of course, would not sell us flood insurance once they new of 'Charley'...lot's going on.

Hopin' for the best...gonna' board up the home tomorrow if he still predicted around Pinellas.
Update tomorrow.
Scott

July 2, 2004
We now have all 50 states covered!!!!!!!!!!! We also have done at least one job from over 10 different countries.
Thanks to all our customers!

July 1, 2004
We will be closed on July 5th.

June 14, 2004
Well...I had to do it. I'm sick and tired of other painters taking code and images from my site and pawning them off as their own work or coding.
The "code and image thieves (removed 10/05) " page will not be linked all over the site, but will be setup so the search engines (specifically Google) will pick up this page.
Not the greatest publicity for the offender.

June 13, 2004
Custom Flame Painting now has over 3500 pages listed on Google :>)

June 4, 2004
Updated the Flames Board. Also updated the subscription process. This is all automated using Paypal.
Registration and subscription info here.

Also updated testimonials page

April 18
We will be adding 4-5 new "Signature Sets" tomorrow or Tuesday.
These will include the following:
Deuce--2000 and up--candy red base with candy metalflake flames and bright red outline.
Deuce-2000 and up.--Black with candy blue ghost tribals with bright blue outline. This will look something like job 346.
Fatboy '95 to '99- 6 gallon stretch tank.--this will fit previous years, but this has the cutout for the elec box. This is hidden under the seat. This paint job has a black metallic/tangerine base with candy tangerine graphics on them, outlined in a bright orange outline.
2000 and up Heritage (carb)- BLack base, blue pearl flames, ghost bar and shield.
2000 and up Fatboy. Silver to Green "color shift" paint, outlined in gold metallic.

Be sure and look for them in the "Signature Sets" section.

March 13th
Didn't realize we had over 1000 page listed on Google...not bad :)

We will now start putting a faint watermark "Attitude Custom Painting" on all the images in the Samples of Work. We've had about 5 other painters use our images, placed them on their site, and pawned them off as thier own jobs (see below on March 9th)

Due to the cost of running the Flames Board and this being a 'business website'. This is now a subscription based board.
More info here

Flames How-To for the do-it-yourselfer info is located in the Flames Board as well.

Current completion time for a job is now about 9 weeks. I think we have peaked though, *just* starting to slow down. Over 65+ jobs in last week.
Looking foward to picking up the Signature Sets again! If you aren't ready yet, be sure and sign up for our "Auto-Notify" service. Sign up, set the keywork, and your will automatically be emailed you when a job is posted using your keyword.
Example keywords you can use--- Fatboy , 'Roadstar, Sportster...Don't make it too precise like red 2000 Heritage.
And if you are just interested in having a certain paint job, you could use keywords like... candy, ghost, red, black...
Enjoy!
.
March 10th
Attitude Custom Painting will be at the "Full Throttle Expo" this April in Pinellas Park (US 19) which has previously been held at the Florida Fairgrounds. Keep posted on exactly where we will be at the Expo.
Details soon!
Hope to have up to 7 sets (mainly H-D) ready to sell.

March 9th
Updated 3/12...the guy took all the photos off...
How can this guy sleep at night? 5 of the images on this website are our actual jobs. Another one our jobs is in his "graphics" section.
Trying to make his visitors think that they did the job.

Below are images/jobs taken from our site.
Number 269 is on this site
Number 330 (Flame Page)
Number 298 (Flame Page)

He will be removing these soon. So you may not see them.
Updated 3/10...all images removed by the owner of the site

Made some changes to the Samples of Work/ Signature Series/ Customers Rides that inadvertently added a "Reply to ad" link which I got "bombarded" with responses (50+ in 2days). If you are one of the many that clicked on the link and sent us a response, please fill out the estimate form so we have better info about your job. Sorry for the inconvenience!!

January 25, 2004
Redid the "Signature Sets" section. All sets now will be within the database program. I will also be transferring most of the "hits" that were on the old ads. So when you go to that section, don't be alarmed when you see 13,000 hits on SS#022 and it shows it was posted today.

Also am "pushing" the "Auto-Notify". This is an excellent feature to use if you decide you can't do your paint job at this time. You need to register, to do this though. Once a job or set for sale is added to the database, you will get Auto-Notified of that job...but this depends on which category and the keywords you set. You can come back, and modify it, delete it, change how many days you want to be registered...
Be sure and register today for the "Auto-Notify"!!!!

January 24, 2004
In the process of mkaing changes so that the "Signature Sets" (Pre painted sheetmetal sets) within the database program, so they are searchable. It will also be easier to maintain than the static HTML pages.
Look for us to start *really* adding sets in the next 3-4 months.

January 20, 2004
Added a new SSL form. This is 128 bit encryption so we can now take cc orders online SAFELY. We are also officially been verified by the IDauthority. Also updated the Flames Board to version 6.4.1, Now almost 7000 members and over 11,000 posts...WOW!!!
And of course, having a record month for business...what a month ;>)

I am also in the process of separating the "Harley Davidson" category in the Samples of Work into smaller sub categories of the different models. Instead of having 200+ Harley Davidson listings all together, they will now be separated so visitors can see paint jobs on a specific bike, *but* on the same hand, you are still able to view *all* jobs by clicking on the "Browse Jobs" link in the Samples of Work. You can also still sort by state, color, name...

Remember, I am in the process of doing this, so not all jobs have been changed to their new subcategory. I am doing it by changing the actual database file ("throught the backdoor of the server"). I will probably have them all sorted out in about 5 days. I did almost 1/2 of them tonight

This is what you will find to bring up all jobs in the Samples of Work section
Within... Samples of Work: Browse Jobs
Choose one and check it out!
Go to the Samples of Work Now!
Browse by category (New separated H-D categories)
See all the listings
Sort by State

January 1, 2004
Made some changes to the "short" ads in the Customers Rides section so now, when you view the "short" ads, a small photo of the customers bikes shows up instead of a "camera icon". Their text is also listed below the short ad.
Over 200 jobs done in our first full year, over 300 total (opened in March of 2002)!!!

December 20, 2003
Happy Holidays to all from Attitude Custom Painting!

November 23,2003
We received our new camera...finally. A much needed upgrade. We bought the Sony DSC-717 (didn't want to have to wait for the 8MP 828 camera). Pretty neat camera. 5 MP, Swivel lens which I thought would come in handy. It even takes MPEG movies. So all pictures in the Samples of Work *including* #304 and up (in numberical sequence) will be taken using this camera.
I'm sure you will notice the difference in the photo quality, especially on all the candy colored paint jobs.

November 16, 2003
We will be closed for Thanksgiving from the 27th (Thursday), until the following Monday.

November 4, 2003
The Flames Board is currently down (We got back up the following day...all is okay!!!). Hopefully it is just the MyMSQL server. If not..
well, we may end up going with our old PERL Flames Board, which I know front end to backend of the program (why did I change...I should have stayed with the old rule...if it's not broken, don't fix it).

We are looking for a new camera to use for our Samples of Work shots. We are looking for possibly the SONY DSC - F717. I wouldn't mind the DSC-828 (first 8 megapixel camera due out in the middle of November) Details
If you are a camera shop owner owner, and have a bike you would like painted...
let's talk :>)
This will be a far cry from our "Coolpix 700" that we have owned for about 4 years now.

October 16 , 2003
Made a couple additions to the General FAQ's.
We are also really starting to pick up. Expect a longer turn around time.
If you have contemplated on getting your bike painted by Attitude Custom Painting, I would suggest getting it done asap. Right now, we are turning a 6-7 week completion time. I'm sure this year will be the same as last year, come November through January, expect a 8-10 week turnaround time.
Worth the wait though...:>)

October 5th, 2003
For those of you that get the Florida "Full Throttle" magazine, be sure and check out our 1/2 page "plug" on Attitude Custom Painting. Oh yea, be sure and check out my dog "Sammy" on the top shelf of our parts racks (look *real* close). Really "top shelf material" :>)
By the way, I sent those photos to Full Throttle, and edited the photo to make Sammy *appear* on the top shelf. She is really not there! Our ad and plug is on page 26 of the October issue.
Hoping for a bigger pic in the mag...but still turned out cool!

September 25, 2003
Well...we're all geared up for the Ybor show. We completed 7 sets to go over plus the Royal Star tank. Lot's of hours last week and this week :>)
All jobs are completed. We have a couple we have to buff out, but these will be done by 12 noon. Setup time is 2PM.
We have all the below sets ready to go over, plus another Sportster Stretch set. Fenders off of a 2001. Tank is stretch with dual locking caps. This is a very mild graphic job which would look great on any Sportster. No pics yet, but basically is is 3 stage candy tangerine with a charcoal accent stripe and 3 stage white with orange pearl over it. We'll try to get pics of this set up before we go. We did the bodywork on the tank about 3 weeks ago and decided to put this set together.

Along with the sets below and the Sportster set we just mentioned, we also have a candy blue Fatboy set that will fit any 84-99 Fatboy (we will provide the cutout on the rear fender if necessary). Beautiful paint job out in the sun. Neat thing about this set is is has a "smooth" rear fender, in which we will include a billet side mount license plate and light!!!

September 18, 2003
Ybor show....it's about here!!!! What sets will we have...well...we should have about 6 sets for display and for sale there. Here is what we have planned...

    • 2000-2003 V-Rod set (completed)
    • Sportster set with stretch tank (completed)
    • Fatboy set-Candy blue with white to yellow with orange to red highlights (close to completion)
    • Springer set with stretch tank (completed) Stretch tank base with candy brandywine and ghost flames.
    • Royal Star Tank (completed)
    • Road Star set-Black with blue pearl ghost flames (close to completion). May do a different colored flame set of I have time...not!
    • Fatboy set-Silver marbleized base with bright candy blue flames outlined in a lime green pinstripe
If you are interested in these *before* we put them on display, contact us.

NEW!-- I have the new Flames Board installed. Some great new features, but I did lose a couple I really liked, so I am going to see if I make the changes to make them up. It seems that PHP is very close to PERL which is what I am used to working with. I will be making changes and adding them to this page along with a post on the Flames Board

I even have the Guestbook back up and running (for the time being...not for sure if all the upcoming changes will affect this?!). You don't even have to register...Nice to have it on the *outside* of the Flames Board!!!! Be sure and check out some of the old posts from way back (7/01) Had a forum or two going before that, but all the posts were not transferrable.
      :>)

      September 15, 2003
Well, I have decided to go ahead with the changes to the "Flames Board". The new Flames Board is written in PHP with a very fast MySQL backend. Quite a new features will be introduced including, which I am sure will be a favorite, the ability to upload photos to your post. IT also includes the ability to view the posts in a "threaded" view or full posts (like the old). May take some getting used to all the features, but I have went through it before the purchase, and thought it would be worth it in the long run. So to our regulars, be sure and take the time to go through the links (especially the "My Home" when you login)I have been transferred all users, posts, and topics. You will have to provide your own "Avatar", but I think the many other features will make up for it. This is the *best* board available, and I'm sure we and you will put it to good use. Look for other updates either here or on the Flames Board.
Look for it to be "live" by tomorrow or Wednesday.
The link to the Flames Board will change, so be sure and update your Favorites if you link straight to it!
Once live, I will be making other changes within the board in the next week or so.

September 10, 2003
Updated pics of the Krew and our new booth. Old one is for sale.

September 7th, 2003
In the next week or so,I will be giving the website a much needed makeover...I have a habit of redoing the site about every 8 months.. guess cause I get tired of the old look, plus it's a good time to update some of the info anyway. The front page already has the new look along with a few of the other sections of the site. I plan on also upgrading the Flames Board to UBB's newest program. It should be released in the next few weeks, so I will be checking this out. I think I'll stick with the "Classic" UBB (which is the program I currently have for the Flames Board instead of going with the "Threads" version of the UBB since I'm pretty good with Perl (Practical Extraction Report Language), and don't know anything about PHP or MySQL. I want to weigh out the advantages to the upgrade versus my current version. I've made quite a few changes to the program already and hate to have to wipe them all out just for a few program upgrades. I'll keep you posted on this. Hope you like the new look! Any comments?
Enjoy!

September 5th, 2003
Just added to more Signature Series sets. Finished a stretch Sportster set (sweeeet!!!)and will finish up a V-Rod set next week. Still have the Springer set for sale (beautiful candy brandywine job!) Both sets will be on display at the Ybor Bikefest show. For more info, look in the Florida "Full Throttle" Magazine. You can also visit their site.

September 1st , 2003
We're gearing up for the "Ybor "Bikefest" show. Plan on taking a minumum of 5 painted sheetmetal sets and have a couple of tents set up.. The show is coming up toward the end of September. For more info, look in the Florida "Full Throttle" Magazine. You can also visit their site.

July 20, 2003

Back from our Mexico trip...Had a great time!!! This year we took a Carnival Cruise ship (out of Miami). Went to the Bahamas last year on a Royal Caribbean ship. If you ever get a chance to go on a cruise...go! I definitely like the service and the overall trip when we went with Royal Caribbean (Sovereign of the Seas out of the Port Canaveral....
Well, back to work!

June 30, 2003
Harley owners will be glad to know, we are working on implementing a new "Exchange Program" in which for a small charge we will supply the sheetmetal, paint your favorite paint/flame job, ship them to you, then you ship your sheetmetal to us. More details on this will be coming soon!

June 19, 2003
Well today's moving day! Boy, we definitely needed the room. Moving from a 1850 square shop to a 5000 will definitely help out. So far everything has ran as smooth as possible. The new booth is built, the old one is sold...only 1 1/2 days downtime including today...not too bad. Pics of the new shop will be posted soon!

June 14, 2003
Added a page in which you can figure your shipping costs from our site, but yet costs are given from using UPS's database. All you need is your zip code and the total weigh of each box. This is written in XML, so the rates are given directly from UPS's database, so all estimates should be very accurate.

June 13, 2003
Added a new section for customers that have put their bike back together. The program allows customers to register, login, and add their bike listing. It also allows them to upload up to 10 pic of their complete bike along with a description of mods and other info about their bike. More "appearance" changes to this section coming soon!
See the "Customers Rides" section.
If you've had a paint job done by us, add your listing here.
I also added a page on the basics of how to resize photos since the maximum width is set at 500 pixels.

The booth is being built in the new shop as we speak (write)!!! Anxious to move in our new 5000 square foot shop.

June 8, 2003
I am in the process of redoing the classified along with the "Samples of Work". I closed down the e-Parts Source site so all attention will be paid toward the CFP site. Soon, our customers will have the ability to upload their own photos to their job listing once they put their bike together. We've been doing so many jobs lately, it is very hard to do add the photos to their listing. So, I got the bright idea to give our customers the ability to not only add photos of their bike when it is put back together, but give them the ability to change and modify photos, edit their listings, like maybe add or change with updated photos, trophies or changes. No need to email me, all the CFP visitors can see their listings...a great way to show off your pride and joy!!!.
You may experience some bad links in the meantime...sorry!

Worked on the new shop today. Painted the doors. Got the new carpeting in. The new booth is supposed to be up by the end of next week. Air lines will also be in very soon. Anxious to move in!

This page will be updated with some previous "What's New" updates in our Flames board so you can see where we have been and where we are heading.
Thank you!

May, 2003
