My wife and I will be working part time during the week of October 5th-12th. We're taking a 'mini vacation'. We'll be in and out of the shop during this timeframe. The shop will be open during all normal hours during this time though.
Expect replies and estimates to be answered a little slower than normal during this time.
My first vacation since I opened the business 5 1/2 years ago! I figure this would be a great time to take one before the busy season comes around in a couple months.

Updated my website. I am starting to delete some of the older jobs to save on bandwidth and disc usage. Between the Samples of Work section, Signature Sets section, and Customer Rides, I hit 12000+ pics (over 600 MB) which is huge. no need in keeping jobs that are over 3-4 years old. So you may see some jobs without any photos on some of the older jobs.
I deleted about 300 older job postings along with the pics that went with those jobs.

Updated my 'Crap List'. Found 4 more guys that stole images, text and code off my site.
Absolutely amazing!!!! When will they learn? I wish I still had my old 'code and image thieve list'. This page would have been triple what it is now.
To date, I've only found about 7 custom paint sites that have actually used my 'paint job' images on their sites (and on their ebay auctions)

If you are an H-D owner, I'm sure you are aware of the 'strike' that Harley-Davidson is on.
The plant that is on strike is, the main plant that supplies the H-D parts.
We do have new fenders on hand, but are in limited supply. We try to carry one set of fenders for each Softail and Dyna bike. So if you are interested in us doing a paint job for you, and I quoted 'new' fenders on your estimate, you may want to check with us to make sure we have these in stock. I would also suggest placing your deposit at that time to ensure that the fenders will be yours.
An alternative to this would be of course, just use 'good' used H-D fenders.

Keep in mind, we are heading into our busy season, so our completion times will grow. So keep this in mind if you plan on having Attitude Custom Painting paint your tins! Last year we got up to a 11-12 weeks. I except this to be the same or even a little more, especially since one of our main competitors went out of business.
Right now, we are at about 8-9 weeks. You can find a 'Current Completion Time' link on our front page.

The 'Auto-Notify' has completely been redone using new software. If you are awaiting for one of our pre-painted Signature Sets to be added, you can now fill out this form, and choose your model. once we add a set to the Signature Sets section, you will be emailed.

Business is starting to pick up ('tis the season!). Get your set in early to avoid the lengthy completion timeframe. Our busiest months are October to July.

Added a PERL script that uses SSI on the index page that will draw the actual numbers from our three main sections. So these number remain current as we (and our customers, in the case of the Customer Rides section) add jobs to the site.

The 'Flames Board' is being modified, moved to a different server, and under a different forum name and site name (Custom Paint Forum.com) . All 15,000 posts and 7500 usernames will be transferred to the new forum. We will also be using a different type software for the forum.
Approx completion timeframe will be 2-3 weeks.
MySQL back end with a PHP front end. THE BEST!

Feel free to take a sneak peek of the new Custom Paint Forum. If you are already a member, you can login and check out your 'Control Panel' . You can change any settings you need to. If you are an active member, I will be looking for moderators. Any help will be appreciated, even if you only want to monitor one forum. email me if interested

Pretty much done with the new look of the site. Hope everyone likes it. Tried to give it a cleaner appearance. Also be sure and check out the two search engines on the front page. one for just the HTML pages ( see link on the lower left hand side on the front page), and the top one for our three main sections.
The new menu also helped cleaned things up.

Hard to believe I have 7000+ pages on Google

I've spent the last couple of weeks or so redoing the website. I should have it done in the next week or so.
The new pages will look like this one with the main menu know done in DHTML which is acceptable with all of today's browsers.

If you are not in the market to get your bike painted now, we will start adding sets to our Signature Sets section in about 2 months. These will be painted and sold at a discounted rate!
So be sure and check back, we may have a set painted for your bike.
Right now we are loaded up with customers jobs, so we are not doing the Sig. Sets at this time.

Be sure and bookmark our site!

Also, sure and sign up for our 'Auto-Notify' which will email you when a set is added to our Signature Sets section, using keywords that you determine (i.e. FXST , Fatboy , FLSTF , stretch ...)
You will need to register for this. You can change or modify, or delete your 'search agent' at anytime.

Of course, for those that are interested in getting their bikes painted now, you can fill our our estimate form,. It might be a good idea to check out our Samples of Work section first to see jobs we've done.
Also, don't forget to eliminate downtime, we carry most fenders and tanks for H-D's, or we can easily order them.

We have added 2 more sets for sale in the Signature Sets section...I have one more to go in which I started a little while back. This would be a Road King Custom with a lowered front fender, going to be a *very* sharp double flame job with a candy marbleized base. This should be done in about 3 weeks. We are extremely busy right now doing customer jobs, so if you see a set for sale in the Sig Sets section...you may want to buy it, as this will pretty much be it for a few months until we slow down again. Our Signature Sets offer a significant saving over normal pricing since we use these for various marketing purposes.

Also check out our newest Customer Ride's addition...David Burrill's custom build...magazine material? Looks like it to me!

Happy birthday to my father which turned 59 today!!!
On a sad note though, my wife's grandmother passed away today at the age of 82. Ironic that my father-in-law that I grew to know for 21 years passed away on his own birthday (January 31st 2005), then Jody's grandmother passes away on *my* father's birthday today...been a very long and hard year for my wife's' side of the family..quite a few other ironic things have happened this year with my wife's family! Not the best of year, so man ups and downs.

Made changes to the PERL program for the Samples of Work, Signature Sets , and the Customer Rides section, so that all pictures show up in full view mode instead of a thumbnail. Also made quite a few other small changes particularly the Signature Sets section so if the set is sold, a banner will come up as set is sold. If the set is for sale, it lists a banner with the price info..

I separated all the pre-painted sets in the Signature Set so you can view by model instead of all of them listed under the single 'Harley Davidson' category as we previously had them listed.

So now you can' View by Model' and also 'Browse all Jobs'.

Due to newer standard larger monitor settings of 1024 x 768 +, we will now enlarge all photos in our Samples of Work from job job 580 and up. We will also do the same for our Signature Sets #088 and up.

We also now use a newly updated Sony F828 rather than our Sony F717 for even better closer (macro) photos.

My BBC DA took 'Top Bike of the Night' at our local Quaker Steak (Pinellas Park). Had to have at least 1200+ bikes there. This was a blast! We will be there as a vendor on October 30 (Sunday) with quite a few H-D sets for sale! If you are in the Tampa Bay area, I would suggest being there! Annual bike give-away, and a ton of fun...great wings to!

Well, we are really starting to pick up! Seems the going date for everyone to sent their sets down to get painted is basically the end of October. Rain must be kicking in up north. So from here until next at least next March, we will be very busy. QUALITY is a must here, so rest assured, that no matter how busy we are, you will get a show quality job!

Quite a bit of news to add to the What's New section this month!!!

Made a change to the website so 30 jobs show up on any one given page instead of the previous 15 in both the Signature Sets section (H-D sets for sale) and also the Samples of Work. Less clicking to get to the next page. Maybe a longer download though. I think the slowest going right now is 56K modem. May take a while or unless you have cable or DSL.

Quite a few new additions to the 'Customer Rides' section! Nice to see the finished product!!!!

Our 2 year old Sony 717 camera is finally going out on us, so we just ordered our new Sony F828. Love the swivel lens!!! Should be here next week. Should see some very nice photos coming in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully this camera can get some really nice shots of our 'candy' paint jobs...so hard to get the richness and depth of the paint jobs.
We do take closeups so you can see 'reflection' (yes, we do this on purpose!!!). If you are in the market for a paint job, be sure and look at reflection in the paint job. Anyone can make a colorful paint job look good in a photo. If you don't see a perfect reflection after it's been buffed...you'd might as well pass on the company or paint job!!!

Business is just starting to pick up. Sure writing quite a few estimates lately...if everything goes like the past few years, you can pretty much add 1 week onto each month until next March as far as 'completion time' goes. Right now, we are 4-5 weeks.
If you can find a shop to do it within a couple weeks, you kind of have to question on 'why' they aren't too busy...hmmmm.

We will be closing at 1PM on October 7, due to my wife and I 20th anniversary .
.Yes, our birthday is also the same day to...Feb 10.

One other note...we will be a vendor at the "Quaker Steak" in Pinellas Park on October 30th.
We were a vendor there earlier this month and probably was the best night I'd ever have. As you can see, we do not do a lot of shows due to our success through referrals on the internet, but its nice to go during our slower months when we get a chance...this is a great show to go to. I wouldn't be surprised if they have 3000+ bikes that day...
So see us there!!! We will have at least 10+ H-D paint sets for sale!!

So far we've painted 20+ Signature Sets for sale, and still have some in the works. We probably will not do too many more as the busy season is rapidly coming upon us. This usually starts in Oct, and lasts until next June. So is you are considering one of the pre-painted sets, I would suggest getting it asap. once they are gone they are gone. Signature Sets offer an excellent savings due to the fact, we use the promotional purposes (more info)
Or, of course We can always paint your set if you would like...Free estimates
Current completion to custom paint a set is 4-5 weeks.

As you can see, I'm in the middle of making changes to the site. I figure this will take a couple more weeks, as I do it in my spare time.

We will be a vender at the upcoming 'Quaker Steak and Lube' motorcycle show on Wednesday night on US 19 in Pinellas Park. I'm sure they'll have 1500+ bikes there...not bad for a Wednesday night. The date is September 14th.

We will also be a vendor at 'Jim's Harley-Davidson' in St Pete. Date of this one is September 24th from 10-4PM.

Well... I think we just got over the peak for our season . Definately carried the season about a month+ longer than last year. Still have about 35 jobs in (had over 60 jobs a couple months ago), but moving smoothly. Thanks to all or customers for another record year!!! Got a great working 'Krew'!

Be sure and look for more upcoming Signature Sets during our off season (if you want to call it that!)
If you don't visit the site often but would like to know when our SS sets of added tot the site, be sure and sign up for our 'Auto-Notify'...you will get notified when we add sets the contain keywords that you set.
